I think this time I’ll be going back to the estate form.
Had a quick look at cars online, Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer, BMW 3 Ser ies Tourer, etc... and of course the Skoda Superb estate.
S and SE are too basic, Sportline and L&K are more expensive for what they are, so SE L Exec again it is.
So again manual and petrol, the 148bhp, 1.4TSi ACT is now the 148bhp, 1.5 TSi
Now the colour,
Stay with the petrol blue metallic,
Emerald green metallic,
Not too ken on the magnetic brown metallic,
There are other colours such as pearlescent black, moon white, quartz grey, metallic silver, metallic grey and what I’m steering towards,
Velvet red metallic.
((it woul dn’t have those wheels and would have the chrome around the windows of the car above)).

The green is nice but I think is a little older for me,
had the blue,
Fancy red because it’s nice and bright.

Go green! Whatever car you end up with.

I think green and blue look nice, but that red is just stunning!

The green, for sure. The petrol blue was (still is) a stunner , but it’s far more commonplace now. Insignia no. 3 Series no. If I were to buy a new estate car tomorrow it would probably be the V60, 5 series or Superb, but I would have to stipulate L&K trim because MAN ALIVE it's sumptuous

The car is pretty much decided, it’s the colour that’s nearly pretty much decided.
The green is nice, but on an estate car it just looks a little, ‘oldie driver’ looking.
The red looks more youthful on the estate.

I like the red because it stands out on what is essentially an older persons car.

Any color but that brown.

I think the green is nice, but on an estate makes the car look a little too, ‘oldie’.
The car needs a large boot, because it needs to take (periodically) two wheel chairs as my step-father and mother are wheel chair users and needs to take a dog cage as my sister’s dog (Jack Russell) and Step- brother’s dog (Poodle mix that won’t settle) did a little damage to the leather seats (even with the protection cover on) and claw scratches on the door tops. I can’t ban them from the car as family would give me so much grief (as always, if I say no to anything they want doing).
The red is a nice contrast against the oldie-ness of the estate.

Green

I guess it’s different over there, but over here, dark red and beige are the color of choice for the elderly.

VW Golf R Estate?
In this green color:

It'll look great in the sun, but low light it'll look dull.

Aint nothing wrong in being wrong Svend..... I kid, I kid, the red is quite spectacular too. I think I saw a newer model Fabia VRs in that shade of red, very stunning.

The boot isn't anywhere near large enough and it'll cost a bit more than the Skoda.

The Superb wagon is a bit out of our price range unfortunately...starting at AU$45K drive a way or from AU$61K for the Sportline version.
Fortunately, there's the Octavia wagon...

The Octavia is nice, just not big enough.
We get Piglet who was priced at £26,550 for just over £20,000 with the incentives, Skoda retention discount, dealership discount, etc... and that was on a new car build, waited, if I recall right, six weeks or so for it to arrive.
We were in the dealership all of half an hour from walking in, placing the order, photocopying documents, paying deposit, etc... and out the door.

If you don’t want dull I’d roll with the red.

Where the blue on Piglet in the sun looks fantastic and a flat dark blue in low light, I fear the green will look great in the sun and a dull greenish brown in low light.
The velvet red metallic will look great in the sun, but look a flat red but still quite radiant.
